New pub Peninsula Hotel opening next week

LeFevre Peninsula pub the Peninsula Hotel has a retro bus you can dine in, a beautiful courtyard beer garden, and a multicultural menu.

Forget Las Vegas and Palm Springs – We’ve found the South Australian equivalent, and it looks amazing.

Get ready for boozy nights, international eats, and 60s vibes: The brand-new Peninsula Hotel is set to open next week with an epic retro fit out, a multicultural menu, and an array of craft beers.

The Taperoo venue is taking over the former Boathouse Tavern and will open from lunch Wednesday, June 2, with a brand-new, terrazzo-topped, LED-lit bars and various dining areas.

If you’re in the mood for an open-air feel, you can dine in the Peninsula Hotel’s beautiful courtyard garden, which features a gorgeous 50-year-old frangipani tree extending toward a retractable roof, so the alfresco booth seating is available in any weather. Perhaps most excitingly, there’s also a repurposed 1950’s school bus situated in the courtyard with bench seating and terrazzo tables. The bus area can be booked and is perfect for small groups.

Indoors, there’s a large dining area, where guests can order from a revamped indoor caravan and create a food truck experience, and the Peninsula Live Lounge, which will see live Adelaide bands performing Friday nights.

No matter which quirky area you choose, there will be delicious international food and local beverages on offer. Signature meals at the renovated hotel include Turkish lamb dumplings with fire-roasted tomato and yoghurt, beef cheek massaman curry with sweet potato and jasmine rice, and an epic katsu sando with chicken meatball katsu, slaw, and fries.

The multicultural meals can be paired with a taste of SA, with many local beers, wines, and spirits on offer. The LeFevre Peninsula venue has taken their love of craft beer a step further as well, collaborating with Big Shed Brewing to create the Peninsula Proud Hazy Pale.

With the motto “Peninsula Proud,” The Peninsula Hotel seeks to exemplify the best of the region. Dion Di Vittorio of the Dean Group, who operates the venue alongside the popular Walkers Arms and Largs Pier Hotel, says the venue will offer a range of new tastes and experiences, whilst creating a warm and welcoming environment.

“Our aim is to make the Peninsula Hotel an entertainment hub for the community, a place of fun, laughter, good flavours and good times,” he says.

“The menu welcomes diners to take a small step into the unknown, inviting them to try new flavours and textures.”

Going forward, the venue will also open Vegas-style accommodation with a pool out front, so we’re excited for that as well!
