New Rainbow Cocktail Menu Launched at Suzie Wong

This underground bar has launched a rainbow cocktail menu featuring nine different coloured drinks, with a dollar from each going to a different charity.

Behind the unassuming secret door that opens to Red October Bar is a staircase leading down to Hong Kong-inspired speakeasy, Suzie Wong.

Home to the biggest whisky collection in South Australia, this underground bar has just launched a rainbow cocktail menu featuring nine different coloured drinks, with a dollar from each going to a different charity.

This essentially means that sitting in a slick underground hideaway, choosing from a rainbow of cocktails, makes you a good person.

Do your bit for the environment and support Greenpeace, fittingly, with the Green cocktail – a blend of gin, midori, kiwi, celery and green tobasco.

For the furry friend obsessed, try an Indigo concoction of Campari, Blue Curacao and Dry Vermouth for the RSPCA.

With a whisky collection nearing 400, you’d be hard-pressed to go past sampling one that showcases this speakeasy’s staple. Sip on the Yellow scotch whisky, chartreuse, banana and honey blend, for endometriosis, the Orange rye whisky, carrot, OJ, honey and horseradish, for cancer, or the Red mix of rye whisky, beetroot and Grenache, for HIV.

If you’re in need of some Insta content, Suzie has you covered with the Blue blend of coconut tequila, Mozart Dry and agave served under a dreamlike cloud of white smoke (an its release you could essentially hear the sound of every phone in Adelaide’s Boomerang app glitching in anticipation).

Grab a group to share and sample the rainbow, which also includes White, Black and Violet, pairing drinks with a selection of Asian eats. Maybe a Sake Pickled Octopus, a serve of the Korean Fried Chicken, or some jackfruit San Choy Bau.

No night out is complete without a decent dose of carbs, so don’t head home before grabbing a rye, shitake sugar and schezwuan caramel donut.

Find Suzie Wong at 22 Gilbert Place Basement, Adelaide SA 5000

Please drink responsibly.
