New Restaurant: Coccobello Opens In Adelaide’s East

It’s the latest from the crew behind Ruby Red Flamingo and Tony Tomatoes.

The crew behind Ruby Red Flamingo and Tony Tomatoes have done it again, this time bringing their popular Italian flavours to Adelaide’s East. Bienvenuto, Coccobello! The new Italian eatery is situated on Glen Osmond Road in Frewville, so eastern residents will no longer have to head to North Adelaide to get a slice of the… pizza.

Coccobello specialises in delivering a menu full of authentic Italian cuisine described as being a blend of their aforementioned sister restaurants. Think fine Italian dining with a relaxed atmosphere. They offer classic dishes including polenta with mushroom or asparagus and leek arancini, and of course everyone’s favourites, pizza and pasta.

Several of their pastas are even made in-house, so you know it’s going to be good. You have got to try their porcini and prosciutto tagliatelle, which is already proving to be a crowd favourite, especially when paired with a glass from their extensive wine list. Just be sure to leave room for their delectable desserts. We recommend the pasteria napoletana, an orange, ricotta and grana cotto cake sprinkled with pistachios, chocolate and raspberries. It is simply bello!

Vegetarians have so much more to choose from than the classic margherita pizza, as almost half the menu offers delicious meat-free options. Vegan cheese options are available for the veggie pizzas too as well as plenty of gluten-free choices.

Owners Lauro Siliquini and Enzo Verdino opened Coccobello in late November and it’s already proving to be a popular place to go get that Italian fix. A polished terrazzo floor and stunning concrete walls set the scene for a authentic Italian dining experience.

Coccobello is open for dinner Tuesday to Saturday from 5:30pm with an additional Friday lunch service from 12-2:30pm.
