NEW RESTAURANT: The Logical Indian Is Rundle Mall’s First Indian Bistro

The Logical Indian serves regional favourites from breakfast onwards, and is making a name for itself as Rundle Mall’s first Indian bistro.

The Logical Indian began in 2015 in the food court of David Jones. Since its inception, it has garnered a loyal customer following, with owner Mervin Joshua telling us that the demand for a restaurant was evident.

“We started looking to expand in 2018,” says Joshua. “We were looking at a few options in the suburbs but had such a following in the city, so didn’t really want to move away.”

Joshua says that’s when he realised there was no licensed Indian restaurant in Rundle Mall.

The Logical Indian has now opened in Rundle Mall Plaza.

“We’re still making quick, grab and go food but there’s also a full, sit-down menu,” says Joshua.

He tells us The Logical Indian has two different approaches to the available food. The first is a buffet style option, with temperature controlled hot plates, and a rotating menu. Popular dishes are retained day to day, whilst the rest of the offering alternates.

The second approach is a dine in menu, featuring South Australian prawns, barramundi, lamb shank, and veggies sourced from the local farmer’s market.

Joshua says 75% of the produce is sourced from South Australia, whilst the spices are imported from India.

The Logical Indian serves regional favourites from breakfast onwards, and is making a name for itself as Rundle Mall’s first Indian bistro.

You can find The Logical Indian at Level 1 Rundle Mall Plaza, 50 Rundle Mall.
