Sam I Am café has just taken home in Christies Beach serving humble brunch and coffee right near the shores.
The new café has a focus on bringing a menu of local produce to enjoy in a relaxing environment.
Owner Sam Putallaz said he has worked in the café scene over the years but wanted to take things to the next level.
“This is my first venture on my own,” Sam said.
“This is a new step for me, I’ve worked in hospitality all my life but I wanted to open my own place.”
“We are just a simple small day time café offering delicious food in a chilled space.”
Sam I Am serves up breakfast, all day brunch and house made goods using local ingredients. Sam said they are starting off serving a small menu with an expanded menu coming soon.
Attendees can look forward to sweet and savoury meals. Dishes include brekkie, chicken and falafel burgers, while there’s bircher muesli, buttermilk pancakes and chia seed pudding for something sweet.
The expanded menu will feature brunch favourites including eggs Bennie and a form of green eggs and ham.
“We’re not pretending to be trendy or fancy,” Sam said.
“We want people to feel like they’re at home and can enjoy themselves.”
“All our snacks are baked on premise including banana bread and brownies and we will have pastries eventually as well.”
He said the menu is seasonal and will change every three to four months depending in what’s in season.
Sam I Am also offers a large drink menu. There’s coffee of all kinds using Dawn Patrol Coffee, while there’s also a refreshing juice and smoothie selection to check out too.
Sam I Am is located at Shop 8 19-23 Beach Road Christies Beach, SA.
Sam I Am is open from Wednesday to Monday.
