New seafood sensation debuts at Garden of Unearthly Delights

Catch by Adelaide Seafood, a gourmet food truck, is taking “festival-food” to the next level, is debuting at the Garden of Unearthly Delights this 2024 Adelaide Fringe season.

Amidst the kaleidoscopic whirlwind of cabaret performances, comedic sensations, musical interludes, acrobatics, and sideshows, sits another highlight that captivates the senses at the Adelaide Fringe: delicious food.

And this year for the first time, Catch by Adelaide Seafood – a gourmet food truck, is taking “festival-food” to the next level at the Garden of Unearthly Delights.

While your mind may drift to the stereotypical ‘festival fare’ you’re accustomed to, Catch by Adelaide Seafood offers a departure from the standard food truck experience – it’s not your typical greasy fish and chips wrapped in paper, but rather, restaurant-quality seafood that defies expectations.

“We’re really looking forward to it, no doubt Fringe Festival 2024 is going to be really a fun season,” Owner Steve, shared his excitement about the debut.

The decision to spotlight seafood at the Adelaide Fringe stems from a desire to offer festival-goers a fresher and healthier alternative to the customary festival fare.

“I think it’s such a unique event; people don’t want the classic burgers and chips. Our seafood truck adds a fresh and healthier appeal. We want to reimagine what food trucks offer, but with a little bit of a twist—a lot more gourmet, almost something you might expect from a restaurant,” Steve says.

Catch by Adelaide Seafood is the culmination of over 45 years of family expertise in the seafood industry.

“We work really closely with local fishermen to source our products, primarily from South Australian fishermen. It’s about delivering the freshest and best quality product we can,” he says.

The menu features a delicious array of seafood delicacies. From the indulgent Lobster & Prawn Roll set to be a festival highlight, to the zesty Garlic Prawns and the timeless Fish Tacos, there’s something for everyone.

According to Steve the Salt and Pepper Calamari is not to be overlooked, but if you’re looking for a fresh take, the Sashimi platter with tuna, kingfish and salmon sounds like great option with a delicious wine. There’s also half dozen oysters available with a lemon vinaigrette and a seafood platter for 2 with fish, salt & pepper calamari, chips, prawns, oysters and salads to add to your ‘must-try’ list.

The menu was crafted specifically for the Adelaide Fringe by a resident chef with experience in Michelin-starred restaurants overseas, focussing on food that’s a gourmet twist on beloved seafood classics.

Adelaide Seafood, the parent brand of Catch by Adelaide Seafood, boasts a legacy built on a love for seafood and a commitment to sustainability.
