Set amongst the gorgeous Australia outback, there is something about Silo Art that reminds us of everything that makes our country so unique.
South Australia already boasts an impressive lineup of Regional Silo Art. You can check out Glam’s guide to South Australian Regional Silo Art here.
Now, acclaimed Australian Artist Garry Duncan is adding to the collection, as part of the Waikerie Silo Mural Painting Project.
The Waikerie Silo Mural Painting Project aims to reflect the theme “Healthy River, Healthy Community.”
Adding amazing elements of vibrant colours to the Waikerie silo art, Duncan’s work is looking set to reflect the environment and community that he knows so well.
Duncan says the environment has always been of great concern to him and is a dominant focus in and throughout his work.
The Waikerie Silo Art Project is a partnership between Nature Foundation SA and a small working group from the Waikerie Community.
Nature Foundation SA says, “The completed Waikerie Silos Art Mural will be a magnificent, emotive piece of artwork reflecting the theme, Healthy River Healthy Community and portraying the vital connection between the community and a healthy river.”
The silos are expected to be finished by the beginning of December this year (so very soon indeed!). We will be sure to keep you updated with any more progress of the artwork.
