Christmas is coming early to Parkside, as this November there’s a brand-new free event bringing music, markets and some festive magic to locals. The first-ever ‘Singing Under the Stars: Parkside Carols & Markets 2025’ will transform St Raphael’s School into a festive wonderland, inviting locals to round out the year alongside their loved ones. On Friday, November 21st from 6pm to 9pm, the lawns will come alive with carols, fairy lights, handmade gifts and delicious food.
Hosted by comedian and presenter Libby Trainor, the evening will feature a line-up of local artists performing traditional classics and tunes that’ll have the whole crowd singing along. Family favourites like Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and Jingle Bell Rock are sure to keep the kids happy, and a mystery number is promising to get everyone up and dancing. With a huge focus on community talent, the performances will set the tone for a night of celebration.
The carols aren’t the only attraction, as the event’s Christmas markets will showcase some great South Australian creative makers. Here, you’ll be able to explore handcrafted jewellery, homewares, locally made festive treats and more. Shoppers can get a head start on their Christmas lists while supporting small businesses and finding the perfect unique gift.
No festive night out is complete without some great food either, luckily Parkside has that covered. Visitors can enjoy American street food, aromatic Persian dishes, and the ever-popular potatoes on a stick. With an onsite bar pouring drinks and plenty of food trucks to choose from, it’s the perfect setup for an easy picnic. Families are encouraged to bring a blanket, settle in, and make an evening of it.
Another exciting addition to the event is the Giving & Wishing Tree. This will offer a way for guests to share kindness this Christmas. Visitors can donate a wrapped gift for a family in need and hang their own Christmas wish on the branches.
The cherry on the top is that Santa Claus will of course be making a special stop on his journey from the North Pole, ready to meet the kids and spread some festive cheer between songs. The little ones can also enjoy the dedicated soft play area.
