If you’re over 35 and have all but given up on dating apps, are struggling with SA’s singles scene and wish you could go back to the days of dating when you actually had conversations with people in the flesh (yes to all three!), The Haus Hahndorf has just the event for you.
Kickin’ off on Friday, August 18th and running every Friday thereafter from 7:30 pm-midnight, The Haus Hahndorf in the Adelaide Hills is hosting their new SINGLES NIGHT, exclusively for South Aussies 35 years and older (sorry millennials!).
Janine, the Haus’ conference and events coordinator, is excited to be putting on an event that’s been created for the locals of the outer city regions. ‘There’s really nothing like this happening in the Adelaide Hills or even the Fleurieu Peninsula areas that’s aimed towards singles,’ says Janine. ‘We want to provide a safe and private space for singles to come and mingle and connect with others in a fun and friendly atmosphere.’
With live entertainment every week, 80s/90s cover band The Flames will be bringing the feel-good tunes on the first Singles Night at The Haus, which will no doubt have you burning up the dancefloor with friends and fellow singles.
There’ll also be exclusive Singles Night cocktails on offer created by an expert mixologist all the way from Bali (ensuring it’s love at first sip), and a wide selection of drink specials all night, so there’s really something for everyone to enjoy—and even perhaps provide a bit of that liquid courage!
And why is this event just targeted at people 35 years and over, you might ask?
‘It’s been a debatable subject as to why we’ve done it like this,’ says Janine, ‘but we’ve just found through our conversations around the community that this is really the demographic of people that are struggling to meet someone special right now. Yes, there are dating apps, but if you’ve had no luck there or find them a bit intimidating, where does someone 35 and older go out to meet someone? There ain’t a lot of options!’, says Janine.
And, whilst this event was created to provide something for the local community—that’s happening in their own backyard and doesn’t require them to venture to the city—Janine invites everyone from all over South Australia to come along.
‘We would love to see anyone and everyone who’s single and looking for a fun night out at these events,’ says Janine. ‘If you’re coming up from the city with a group of friends and want to make a night of it, there’s even affordable accommodation across the road from us at The Manna, which will save you from expensive Uber trips home and allow you to relax and enjoy the evening with your mates.’
So, SA singles, gather your friends, grab your tickets, and come be a part of The Haus’ first-ever Singles Night this August 18th. At the very least, it’ll be a fun night out with good tunes, delicious cocktails and perhaps some stories to tell all your coupled mates.
