Riser Collective SA is the latest addition to South Australia’s music scene, officially launching to support local artists, managers, venues, and industry professionals at every stage of their careers.
Built by people who are actively working in the music industry right now, Riser Collective SA is all about practical, real-world development. Rather than relying on theory alone, the organisation connects South Australians directly with the expertise, networks, and career pathways needed to thrive in an increasingly competitive industry.
“Riser Collective was built to close the gap between theory and reality in the SA music industry,” shared Chelsea Sinnott, Industry Development Manager. “We are working professionals, managers, artists, venues, booking agents and educators, bringing real-time knowledge directly back into the community.”
South Australia has long been home to incredible musical talent, but access to industry infrastructure can sometimes lag behind larger markets like Sydney and Melbourne. “Riser Collective exists to help bridge that gap, connecting our local industry to national and global opportunities, while strengthening pathways here at home,” shared Chelsea.
Riser Collective is focused on accessibility, and with a hybrid delivery model will combine in-person events, statewide digital access, and dedicated regional engagement, making sure artists and industry workers across South Australia can participate, regardless of where they’re based.
That commitment extends particularly to remote and regional communities, where access to professional development can often be limited.
Equally important is the organisation’s First Nations First approach. Riser Collective recognises Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the original storytellers and song-makers of this land, placing First Nations voices at the centre of its work.
This commitment is woven throughout the organisation, from its advisory structure to the development of meaningful programs designed to support and elevate First Nations artists and practitioners.
The leadership team brings extensive national and international experience across management, performance, venue operations, booking, and education. Combined with a diverse advisory committee, the organisation is uniquely positioned to offer relevant, timely support to South Australia’s evolving music sector.
Riser Collective will deliver a range of professional development opportunities, including industry events, one-on-one mentoring, collaborative initiatives, and networking opportunities designed around transparency, sustainability, and long-term career growth.
In an industry that can often feel difficult to navigate, having experienced professionals guide the way could prove invaluable. For emerging artists, seasoned professionals, and everyone in between, this could be the beginning of something very exciting indeed.
