The latest celebrity guests have been revealed in the Supa-Star studded lineup for Supanova Comic Con and Gaming, where stars, seas, and superpowers will collide for their upcoming tour, which is headed to Adelaide next month.
Supanova will be heading to major cities nationally, including Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, Gold Coast, Sydney and Perth- but Adelaide and Brisbane have been lucky enough to secure some extra famous faces.
Pop culture aficionados will be in their element, with the iconic Temuera Morrison leading the parade of renowned faces. Originating from New Zealand, Temuera’s remarkable journey began in the critically-acclaimed ‘Once Were Warriors.’ before donning his iconic Mandalorian armour in ‘Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones’ and ‘The Book of Boba Fett.’ With Temuera attending, fans will indeed feel the force.
Navigating from galaxies to the vast expanse of the sea, budding star Morgan Davies, is another jewel in Supanova’s crown. Fresh from the success of Netflix’s rendition of ‘One Piece.’ where Davies brought to life the marine-in-the-making Koby, his appearance is bound to create waves. This fan-favourite performance follows Davies’ breakthrough role as Danny in ‘Evil Dead Rise,’ released to critical acclaim earlier this year.
DC enthusiasts, here’s a ‘titanic’ addition for you: Joshua Orpin, easily recognised for his portrayal of Connor Kent aka Superboy in ‘Titans,’ joins the lineup. Beyond his superhero persona, Orpin, a homegrown hero and WAAPA graduate, has also featured in ‘Preacher’ and the Australian series ‘Love Me.’
Matt Doran, a familiar face from ‘The Matrix’ and ‘Star Wars,’ closes out the third wave of on-screen stars for November exclusively at the Brisbane event, brought to fans by The Sons of Obiwan Saber Academy.
However, Katee Sackhoff from ‘The Mandalorian’ and ‘Battlestar Galactica,’ won’t be making an in-person appearance due to ongoing family illness, but will instead engage fans through a virtual Q&A panel in each city. David Wenham from ‘The Lord of the Rings’ has had to postpone due to an upcoming film role, but hopes to visit again sometime in the new year.
Literary enthusiasts, the narrative doesn’t end here. Lev Grossman, the brain behind the New York Times bestseller, the Magicians trilogy, will be gracing Brisbane. Joining him will be Jo Riccioni, author of “The Branded Season”, who’s also scheduled to charm Adelaide.
Comic devotees, whether you love DC or Marvel, legendary artist Paulo Siqueira will also be there, who has more than 20 years of credits like Venom and Titans. Alongside him, local talents Alejandro Barrionuevo, Austen Mengler, and Darren Koziol. David Follet will return for his Adelaide hometown and Brisbane has exclusives like Darren Close and Shaun Keenan.
Booking is a breeze with General Admission, Supa-Q, and VIP Supa-Star Passes available on Moshtix. And if you’re looking forward to a cherished autograph or photograph with your favorite star, tokens will be available soon.
