Melo by name and mellow nature – new coffee shop Melo Café is serving quality coffee and brunch in welcoming and relaxed surrounds.
Offering Melbourne-roasted Valenciano coffee, Melo Café is a place where you can stop and relax or grab a coffee and bite on the go.
High school friends Luke Cece and Lewis Goodridge had been working in hospitality and combined forces when they saw a gap in the market in the local area.
“We’ve been doing a lot of coffee,” Luke said.
“Valenciano is an all round great-tasting coffee.”
For a relaxed brunch they offer a simple, yet delicious, menu including eggs and bacon, eggs benedict and smashed avocado.
There are also grab-and-go items such as homemade biscuits, banana bread and croissants.
And their focaccias, made with homemade fresh bread daily, have been walking out the door!
“Everyone has been so positive. The locals love it, they tell us every day,” Lewis said.
Both Luke and Lewis had previously run their own pizza bar and restaurant businesses, but decided to combine their talents and branch out to something new, along with third partner Isaac Laduma.
“It’s a lot more fun working during the day, you get to interact with people more,” Lexis explains.
Melo Cafe is located at 1/1 Longview Rd, Windsor Gardens, and is open Tuesday-Friday 7.30-3.30 and weekends 8.30-2.30.
