South Australia’s costal town of Port Lincoln is making waves internationally after being dubbed as ‘Australia’s secret seafood mecca’ by the New York Post – America’s fifth largest newspaper – earlier this month.
And…um… we’re kind of freaking out! How. Bloody. Awesome. Is. SA?! Not that we needed to tell you that.
Our state is getting recognised left, right and centre on the International stage for everything from our gorgeous natural landscapes, food and wine. Most recently we were named as one of the Top 10 Destinations for 2017 by both Lonely Planet and Vogue. Now? We bask in the well deserved loving from the NY Post. But first: these photos prove that Port Lincoln has some of the best sunrises too.

We’re probably more spoilt than we even realise, for example, did you know that Port Lincoln’s bluefin tuna is a rare specialty in some countries? It’s the priciest tuna on the sashimi market at the world renowned Tsukiji fish market in Tokyo FYI. The NY Post also sing praises for Port Lincoln’s
Del Giorno’s, labelled ‘Port Lincoln’s must-go seafood restaurant’, and
1802 Oyster Bar and Bistro in Coffin Bay, where oysters are served straight from the water.
The NY Post article not only pays homage to Port Lincoln’s quality seafood on the plate but it raves about the attractions for the adrenaline junkies.
Adventure Bay Charters in Port Lincoln specialises in cage diving with great white sharks for the more daring traveller. Dolphin pods and sea lions are also frequently spotted during your time in, and on the water.
