I love Glenelg for a number of reasons. The incredible coastline, ice cream shops galore and plenty of eateries.
My newest reason however, is this gem of a place called Superette.
Café, provedore, flower shop. You name it, this place has it all. Superette is on Moseley Street, tucked away from all the hustle and bustle. It’s hard to miss if you are walking from Jetty Road, as it’s awesome hand painted signage is a standout.

It only gets better from there. The frontage of the building is heritage listed so you are greeted with the most stunning antique leadlight windows with brass details. The brass theme follows throughout this cosy nook, with hints of it on the bench tops and shelving. There’s splashes of deep navy on the bench, handmade by owner Georgy’s husband, as well as plenty of timber and matte black for good measure.
If you are after something on the run, whether it be locally made tea, coffee beans or cheeses, this place will have you covered. They have loaves of bread from Hearth Breads, a selection of SA and interstate condiments on the shelves, as well anything from sparkling water, cheeses from the Fleurieu Peninsula, fresh veggies and even handmade soaps.

If you are a flower lover (who isn’t), then you will be excited to see Gooseberry Hill flowers in buckets, both dried and fresh. Seriously, their flowers are an absolute dream.
When it comes to eating in, and I strongly suggest that you do, they have a small but sweet menu to choose from. We ordered the smashed avocado and the Salmon with a side of avocado. They also had the most tastiest looking pastries and home-made cakes on the counter which I somehow managed to resist (don’t ask how).

The avo on both our dishes was ample, as were the lashings of dukkah and feta. The other half loved his salmon which was flakey and in abundance. To wash it all down we had coffees- no sugar needed here folks- as well as a Green Smoothie that was super refreshing.
There’s only a small amount of seating here at the moment so if it gets busy be prepared to wait. But believe me, a spot out the front on a Timber Wolf bench is worth waiting for.
