Ninja Warrior Base Camp relocating to Kilburn with fresh new playgrounds & courses

Base Camp’s first playground will be open in time for the October School Holidays, with two more playgrounds and a trampoline area coming soon.

Since 2018, SA Base Camp’s has showcased some of the best obstacles and fitness activities in the form of an EPIC ninja warrior course.

Created by former Ninja Warrior Grand Finalist, Luke Williams, Base Camp featured three courses catering to different age groups and skill sets (one for kids aged 5-10, one for kids aged 11-15, and one more 16+).

Base Camp, formerly located in Port Adelaide, offered unique methods of training, such as vertical rope climbs, wind tunnels and travelators, and operated as a place where Australian Ninjas could train.

This year, however, marks a new chapter for Base Camp, with business partners Kieran Murphy and Mark Howells taking over the operation and relocating to a fresh space.

“We bought Base Camp in May and always had intentions to move and find a forever home in Kilburn,” says new Base Camp Director, Kieran. “We traditionally work in the therapy space, so we’re looking forward to create a really great allied health space too.”

SA Base Camp offers Ninja playgroup (2-3), Mini Ninja classes (3+) and Teen Ninja classes, focussed on developing “speed, strength, balance and social skills”, as well as fully catered birthday party packages. Kireran says Base Camp is endeavouring to me more inclusive for the little ones, as well as the big ninja kids.

“Historically, Base Camp has been for the ninja warriors,” says Kieran. “That’s been the experience. We’re hoping to offer a new experience that caters to the little kids who may not have the physical strength or skills to do the bigger courses.”

Kieran and Mark will be opening their first Base Camp playground for the October school holidays, which will be 4 storeys high!

“The experience is going to be bigger and better than ever before. Can and swing and play, play in the playgrounds… a lot busier and a lot catered to all ages!” says Kieran.

Next year, two more playgrounds will be available, as well as a trampoline area and mezzanine level café, where parents can sit back and enjoy a coffee and snack as the kids go mad below.

SA Base Camp will be reopening its new and improved venue on Saturday 1st October.

Base Camp will be located at 550 Churchill Road, Kilburn SA 5084.
