No Idea What’s For Dinner? Hit The Truffle Trail For A Delicious Solution

Yes you read that correctly. There’s a Truffle Trail. Get excited. It’s part of the delicious Trufflefest which has descended upon the Adelaide Central Market this week, and runs until Sunday.

trufflefestYes you read that correctly. There’s a Truffle Trail. Get excited. It’s part of the delicious Trufflefest which has descended upon the Adelaide Central Markes this week, and runs until Sunday.

Here’s how it works. Head to the Gouger Street market entrance near the glass elevators & stairs, then find the nice lady working at the Trufflefest stand. Pay her $35 and choose whether you want a trendy markets hessian shopping bag, or an insulated bag (we chose the latter as there are perishable items you’ll need to keep cool). Grab a wine glass (are you excited yet?) and Truffle Trail map, and start your adventure.

You’ll be led through the market maze, collecting fresh ingredients from a variety of stalls, which will ultimately allow you to make a gorgeous Pappardelle Carbonara with Truffles & Leeks. The only decision you’ll have to make is whether to drink your glass of Bird in Hand sparkling during your shopping adventures, or afterwards to celebrate your awesomeness for being so organised ahead of dinnertime.

Trufflefest also offers up cooking demos, and other truffle related amazingness over the next couple of days so check out their website for all the info: http://truffleadelaide.com/

And if you REALLY love Truffles, make sure you check out Sunday’s Grand Truffle Lunch at the markets. It’s $155pp + bf.
