South Australia has recorded no new COVID-19 cases.

South Australia has recorded no new COVID-19 cases after a positive case misunderstood self-isolation requirements.

It was announced this morning the positive case received a message to quarantine for 14 days as he was a casual contact of a student who tested positive at the Flinders University English institute.

The man initially tested negative for COVID-19 and wrongly thought this meant he could leave quarantine when the state’s lockdown ended just over a week ago.

“He misunderstood and went out shopping when the lockdown ended,” Dr Moy said.

Over the course of Sunday 22 November, the man visited myriad shops in Adelaide’s eastern and western suburbs.

Between 12.15pm and 3.30pm on the day in question, the man visited Big W Brickworks, at Torrensville, Foodland at Norwood, Kmart at Kurralta Park, On the Run at Hilton, Anaconda, Mile End, Guzman y Gomez, Glandore, and Boost Juice, Glenelg.

South Australian Chief Health Adviser Professor Spurrier said she was disappointed in the breach. She stressed that those in quarantine must wait until they had returned a second negative test at the end of the two weeks to leave isolation.

People who shopped at the same time as the man have been urged to get tested immediately and self isolate until they get the results.

Four locations are on high alert:

Anyone who has been at any of these four locations, need to be tested immediately, even if you have no symptoms whatsoever, and isolate until you get your results.

You do not need to self-quarantine if you receive a negative test but you should monitor for symptoms and get re-tested immediately if symptoms develop.
