No Quiet Festival set to make some noise in the Barossa this April

After a stellar start in 2022, No Quiet returns to the Barossa for another day of high-intensity and legendary tunes, releasing its lineup.

South Australia’s No Quiet festival, the nascent celebration of high energy live performances from
local punk and rock acts, has shared the lineup for its second edition.

Officially in May of 2022, the journey to No Quiet’s inaugural event was a long one, with a couple of false starts finally resulting in organisers Dan Hill and Kieron Lomax taking over The Greenock in Greenock, South Australia for a day featuring massive local acts, including Young Offenders, Chelsea Manor, St Judes and Newgate Crowd.

Now, No Quiet is making its triumphant return, once again taking over The Greenock for a day that fans won’t soon forget on Saturday, 29th April. For its second outing, a number of the finest acts from across South Australia and interstate are coming together, including the likes of Sydney’s SoSo and Melbourne’s Drastic Park, and Adelaide’s homegrown heroes, The Vains.

Elsewhere, the lineup is complemented by a diverse range of styles with Mannequin Death Squad, Judo CHOP!, CHEAP-SKATE, Left On Seen, PTL, Stiff Necks, Moxie, and Swainsona; there’s something for everyone at this inclusive, accessible, all-ages affair.

“The goal for No Quiet, aside from creating something memorable, is to provoke change, challenge the status quo and inspire others,” explains No Quiet organiser Dan Hill. “If a couple of middle-aged punks can pull this off, then surely anyone can.

“Some of the best shows I have been to are not the big stadium events and festivals. They have been gigs at house parties, impromptu dive bar shows and DIY gigs where I discovered a new talent and made memories with like-minded people. I hope one day, No Quiet hits people in the same way.”

“There’s nothing that matches the experience of playing and watching live music with your ‘tribe’,” echoes Kieron Lomax. “I’ve always felt inspired, alive and ready to take on the world after witnessing a great show.

“From my first proper all-ages gig I was hooked, and music has been somewhere I’ve built the best friendships and strongest relationships. I’m proud that Dan & I can share that feeling with more people, in a place that’s starved for it by bringing No Quiet to life.”

First envisioned by self-described “professionals/creatives/punks” Hill and Lomax as a celebration of local music in traditionally forgotten regional areas of South Australia, No Quiet takes inspiration from other beloved events such as A Day Of Clarity and the Poison City Weekender.

Having been forced to endure two COVID-related postponements, No Quiet’s inaugural event took place in May 2022, with 300 people of all ages and demographics coming together for the sold-out event as a way to share a love of noise, art, friendship, and the raw, visceral excitement of loud, fast and alternative music.

The 2023 edition of No Quiet features an increased capacity, with relaxed COVID restrictions now allowing a total of 500 punters to take place in the event.
