For one weekend only NOLA Adelaide will be teaming up with Melbourne’s iconic bar, Boilermaker House, in collaboration with The Exchange, bringing you ‘Boilermaker Weekender’ – a whisky and craft beer weekend you’ve all been waiting for.

When bringing two revered whisky & craft beer-centric venues together, one can expect many a boilermaker & the old-fashioned hospitality that both NOLA and Boilermaker House are best known for.

“We’ve always admired Boilermaker House and what they do,” says NOLA Venue Manager, Jaime Fraser.

“They have a similar ethos to ourselves regarding beer and whisky, we share a deep passion for the products we sell – one of which being a bloody good time. So during one of Melbourne’s many lockdowns back in 2020, we decided to reach out and see if we could buy a few kegs of their stock on hand – nobody wanted the beer to go bad!

“With the help of our mutual friends at Wolf Of The Willows, we shipped a bunch of kegs over to Adelaide to sell at NOLA and a beautiful friendship was born.”

Boilermaker House of Melbourne’s Speakeasy Group is reputed as one of the top ten whisky bars in the country. With 700 different whiskies on offer as well as a rotation of tapped and bottled beers, it’s easy to see why.

“The Exchange who represent the Beam-Suntory Whisky Portfolio has for many years now been intricately involved in the training and mentoring of the Australian bar scene, so with travel once again becoming more viable, to be able to support the coming together of these two iconic venues is extremely exciting,” says Spirits Exchange Business Manager, Chris Brittain

“We look forward to a showcase of the iconic Boilermaker House right here in Adelaide, and equally giving their crew a little taste of the Adelaide hospitality industry that we think is second to none”.

Across the 2 day Boilerhouse Weekender there will be a selection of exclusive masterclasses, a Boilermaker House bar takeover from 8-11pm, an extensive craft beer selection including a collab beer with Boilermaker house and Bowden Brewing beer that is currently in the works, an exclusive Boilermaker House cocktail and boilermaker list available all weekend long and finally on the menu will be NOLA’s Southern style offering with nods to both Cajun & Creole cuisine but with the addition of Boilermaker Houses’ limited edition Whisky hot sauce – a perfect pairing to NOLA’s signature fried chicken.

It’s a weekend you won’t want to miss. “We are super excited about the opportunity to get over to Adelaide with the crew at NOLA, showcasing what we’ve worked on together and essentially taking Boilermaker House on the road. NOLA and Boilermaker House have a tonne of things in common and a mutual shared love for all things whisky and craft brews.” Says Adam Stewart – Boilermaker House Venue Manager

The weekend masterclass across two sessions on the Saturday ‘The Subtle Art of the Boilermaker’ will include 5 boilermakers that have been expertly paired with a detailed walk-through of all you need to know about the producers behind each beer and whisky as well as how to pair whiskies and beer s so that masterclass goers can emulate boilermakers at home like a professional.
