For the entire world, 2020 will be one for the record books.

It has been a challenging start to the year for many businesses particularly in the hospitality sector.

In the midst of this, Restaurant & Catering Australia (R&CA) have continued to advocate for the industry and provide information on the recovery roadmap.

To provide positivity and a reason for the industry to celebrate its resilience through these times, R&CA will continue to hold the 2020 Restaurant & Catering Hostplus Awards for Excellence.

“We understand the financial hardship you are under, however R&CA have heard from many of you and feel it is of utmost importance to provide a platform for all winners and finalists to be recognised, particularly during these unprecedented times,” the R&CA team said.

That is why they have allowed gift vouchers to be provided replacing the nomination category fee.

R&CA have also brought some exciting changes to the Awards in 2020.

All nominated venues will also now receive more comprehensive feedback on the judge’s experience to ensure the information will benefit the operations of the business.

The Awards for Excellence program provides the platform for businesses to receive a prestigious R&CA plate rating.

Held in high regard, the plate rating system is a national benchmark from within the industry.

By being awarded a plate rating, businesses will demonstrate that their business provides quality products and services and will help them stand out as a credible, professional business that delivers excellent customer service and demonstrates commitment to quality hospitality.

Become a leader within the industry by receiving 5 plates, supported by the peak industry body.

Restaurants have the opportunity to enter one of fourteen restaurant categories. Casual dining establishments have the opportunity to enter one of three categories and caterers can enter up to two of eight categories.

Each establishment that enters has a chance to also take home the major accolades of Restaurant of the Year, Casual Dining of the Year and Caterer of the Year.

There are also many other awards such as the consumer vote award, where the public votes, the healthy kids menu award, the hospitality awards to celebrate staff who have worked relentlessly for the industry, the fast casual dining award and many more.

Don’t miss out on this great opportunity to showcase your venue during COVID-19 and beyond, as nominations are set to close soon.

Nominations close on August 7, so for more info on the R&CA Awards and to enter, head to http://rca.asn.au/rca/2020-awards-for-excellence/.
