Nominations for this year’s Governor’s Multicultural Awards are now open.
The Governor’s multicultural Awards recognise and celebrate outstanding South Australians who promote multiculturalism and increase the understanding of the benefits of cultural diversity in our community.
South Australians who are passionate about our state’s cultural diversity are encouraged to submit a nomination for the 2022 Governor’s Multicultural Awards.
“These awards recognise the valuable contributions of South Australians who are committed to supporting and promoting united, harmonious and inclusive multicultural communities in our State,” says Minister for Multicultural Affairs, Zoe Bettison.
“As a multicultural State it is important to identify, acknowledge and reward those incredibly passionate individuals that dedicate a lot of their time and efforts to educate and empower our diverse communities and make South Australia a better place for all of us. Â
“The Multicultural Awards provide an opportunity to increase awareness of the benefits of diversity, while sharing the various innovative ways people and organisations implement to educate, support and make our diverse communities stronger, dynamic and more progressive.”
Nominating an individual, team or organisation that is making a positive contribution to multiculturalism and intercultural understanding in our community provides an opportunity for their stories to be celebrated and acknowledged at the highest level.
Administered by the Department of the Premier and Cabinet through Multicultural Affairs, the awards are presented by the Governor of South Australia, on the advice of an independent judging panel.
The nine award categories are:
- Outstanding individual achievement
