Calling all local businesses! The City of Charles Sturt are thrilled to announce the inauguration of the City of Charles Sturt Business Recognition Awards. These awards aim to honour, inspire, and exhibit the multitude of business pioneers within the community.
This initiative presents a wonderful opportunity to applaud the accomplishments of local enterprises that have bravely confronted unprecedented challenges in recent times. The Council recognises and appreciates the dynamism and vitality that businesses contribute to the community, making this event a significant platform to commemorate their achievements.
City of Charles Sturt Mayor Angela Evans said, “Local businesses play a vital role in making our City a great place to live, work and play. We are proud to launch the Business Recognition Awards to celebrate the many vibrant business who call the City of Charles Sturt home.”
A diverse range of award categories is available to showcase the vibrant array of businesses within the city of Charles Sturt including;
Business Legends: Recognising businesses with a longstanding presence in their community, operating for more than 25 years, and demonstrating unwavering commitment to the City of Charles Sturt.
Social Impact/Change Maker: Acknowledging local businesses that engage in philanthropy, devise innovative solutions to social issues, and/or allocate profits to charitable causes.
Sustainability Champion: Celebrating businesses that prioritise environmental stewardship, actively work to reduce their carbon footprint, and invest resources in addressing climate change.
International Business: Commending exceptional performance in fostering trade between the City of Charles Sturt and global export markets, across service, manufacturing, or value-added sectors.
Innovation: Recognising companies that exhibit excellence in product or process innovation, enhancing competitiveness in national or global markets, irrespective of company size.
Outstanding Entrepreneur: Honouring individuals who have demonstrated the capacity to transform innovative ideas into commercially successful ventures.
Home Grown: Recognising the dedication and drive behind sustaining a home-based business.
Best Small Business (less than 20 employees): Acknowledging businesses that foster growth opportunities, stability, a positive workplace culture, and exceptional client/customer relationships.
Best Developer/Considered Design: Recognising a commitment to creating master-planned communities designed for future sustainability.
People’s Choice Award: Nominated by customers who have experienced exceptional service and have taken the time to express their appreciation by submitting written nominations for outstanding individuals or businesses.
These awards will be presented in collaboration with Western Business Leaders.

The winners will be announced and presented at the Woodville Town Hall on Thursday 9 May 2024.
