You don’t need me telling you how much is happening this time of the year in festival season but the excitement just keeps coming, this time with a pop up Ramen bar on Friday nights at LOC Bottle Bar.
Quality Noods will be at the trendy spot Friday nights during the Adelaide Fringe from 5pm until sold out serving up a rotating range of two ramens, always one meat and one vegan option.
Quality Noods is the brainchild of former Orana chef Justin Healy and the way he came up with it is certainly left of field.
“The ramen pop up really that came out of my interest in travelling overseas and seeing a ramen truck run by a Swedish guy and I thought I could probably give this a crack. He was really nice and inspired me a lot,” says Justin.
The collaboration with LOC came from a bit of a chance encounter.
“I was with my partner at LOC and then Olivia the owner came over and we were chatting and they were doing a taco night there at the time and she said oh you should do some food and i was all for it”
Josh has run his popular ramen pop up at the Exeter before and will again do that this year on Sundays but unlike LOC that is a ticketed event so you have to get in early.
The menu rotating is a cornerstone of Quality Noods business as Justin wants the menu to be fresh and seasonal.
Some examples of previous ramen’s to give you an idea of what to expect is a vegan onion ramen with pickled Kohlrabi, capsicum and greens or a Fleurieu Chicken Shio noodle soup with soy brined eggs and chicken fat.
If you want a hearty bowl of ‘Quality Noods’ then head into LOC at 5pm on any Friday during the Fringe but be warned as they could sell out quickly. If you want to check them out at the Exeter they will be there on Sundays but you have to get in early and book your ticket.
