North Terrace nightclub fined for breaching COVID-19 restrictions

The failure of the venue to comply potentially puts the public at risk, and the licensing sector at risk of further restrictions.

Investigators from the COVID compliance team have issued a $5,000 fine to a licensed premises on North Terrace for a significant breach of the Public Activities Direction.

An investigation commenced following a complaint from a member of the public, with footage obtained from the premises showing a disregard for COVID-19 restrictions.

According to SAPOL, the failure of the venue to comply potentially puts the public at risk, and the licensing sector at risk of further restrictions.

SAPOL COVID Compliance have referred the breach of COVID-19 Directions to the Liquor & Gambling Commissioner to consider whether disciplinary action against the licensee is warranted.

COVID Compliance teams will be out again this weekend to ensure venues are acting in accordance with the state’s restrictions.
