A feast for all the senses this Sunday 21 October!
Norwood Parade has always been considered a trendy cosmopolitan retail precinct which hosts some of Adelaide’s best fashion retailers and independent boutiques. It buzzes with activity no matter what time of year you visit. However, The Parade’s allure will truly captivate and delight you during the Adelaide Fashion Festival (19-27 October), which is actually being hosted by the City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters and The Parade itself.
During the Adelaide Fashion Festival on Sunday 21 October, between 10am- 4pm, The Parade will be transformed for one of its most celebrated events – Norwood Place Parades on Norwood Parade & Fashion Market! The theme of day is all about bringing together the general community and the fashion industry in a fun, free and family friendly environment.
The event will showcase the latest trends and what’s hot for Spring/Summer fashion as The Parade is turned into an open-air fashion hot spot. The street will be partially closed off (between George Street and Edward Street) with a long catwalk as the centerpiece, staging free fashion parades throughout the day. However, for those seeking the VIP experience, they will be able to indulge and buy tickets for a front row High Tea around the catwalk, generously provided by The Aviary Dessert Kitchen, The Rising Sun, House, and Atmosphere Events, and also includes a goodie bag to take home.
The catwalk will light up with gorgeous models showing off the latest Spring Summer for men, women and children’s fashion from the boutiques located on Norwood Parade. So if anything inspires you to splurge and treat yourself – it will be a short walk to shop the looks that you fell in love with.

Alongside the catwalk, Jennifer Centenera (behind Gilles Street Markets) – will sprinkle some of her magic with the Norwood Fashion Market. The market will an absolute fashion treasure trove and a bowerbird’s delight, comprising approximately 70 stalls offering a blend of adult and children’s designer clothing, as well as pre-loved and vintage fashion and accessories.

Adding to the day’s festivities will be the Catwalk Fabrics – Designer Pressure Test Competition. Ten local fashion designers will take to the catwalk with a mannequin, a pair of scissors, 3 metres of fabric and two hours to pin, tack, stitch and sew a creation of their choice right in front of your very eyes! Another great competition on the day is the Parade Magazine Makeover! Six lucky crowd members will be transformed, with the help of fashion stores and hair/makeup artists from The Parade. A panel of judges and the crowd will vote on the best makeover of the day.
But expect more than just fashion parades; there will also be numerous live free entertainment for families and plenty of food and drink provided by the fabulous Norwood eateries and street food stalls.
