Guess what wine lovers, we have GREAT NEWS! Later this month, Adelaide is getting a new wine festival – all about the alternative varieties! NOT The Usual Suspects will feature over forty producers showing off the more unfamiliar wine varieties, and giving the public a chance to discover something new.
This is not just about wineries talking about their wares, but also about opening the conversation, and demystifying the varieties for the people who want to know more. Where did they come from? How did they get here? Why are there so many now? What foods do they match? And how do you pronounce them all?!
NOT The Usual Suspects is about the people, not just the wineries. You are invited to come and ask them all the questions, try something new, and walk on the wilder side of wine.
Where: National Wine Centre
When: 2pm-6pm, 30 November
This is an independent event, with no financial backing or support. The event is being conducted purely because we see a need for showing off the sheer range and varieties, and explaining the styles now on offer to Adelaide’s wine lovers.
The aim is to make this an annual event. Because there are always more varieties…!
