Novar Gardens lotto winner a mystery as prize remains unclaimed

The fortunate but yet unidentified person clinched the 1st Prize in the draw.

In the Adelaide suburb of Novar Gardens, an unsuspecting individual is about to have their life transformed, following a windfall of $200,000 from the Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot draw. The fortunate but yet unidentified person clinched the 1st Prize in the draw numbered 1644, which took place on Wednesday, 31 January 2024. As the ticket was unregistered, the hunt for the winner is now on.

The winning ticket was purchased at the local Novar Gardens Newsagency on Morphett Road. The absence of registration means The Lott officials are eagerly waiting for the winner to come forward to claim their prize, as they have no means to initiate contact.

Helen, a team member at the Novar Gardens Newsagency, said “We’re amazed to have sold a winning ticket. We’ve been celebrating and letting all our customers know ever since,” she shared. The newsagency, which last sold a major prize in October 2022 on an Instant Scratch-Its ticket, is hopeful that this marks the beginning of a fortunate streak for both the store and its patrons.

Khat McIntyre, a spokesperson for The Lott, shared “It’s likely our winner is going about their day as normal with no idea they’re bank account is about to be boosted!” McIntyre urged anyone who purchased a Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot ticket from the Novar Gardens Newsagency to check their tickets without delay, hinting at the life-changing impact of such a win. “Imagine how incredible it would be to win $200,000? Your plans for the rest of the year would certainly enhance with those extra digits in your account,” she added.

The search for the winner involves checking all possible hiding spots for the ticket, from wallets and handbags to fridge doors and car gloveboxes. The Lott encourages the lucky ticketholder to come forward and contact them at 131 868 to start the prize claim process.

The Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot and Super Jackpot games, known for their unique raffle-style format, ensures no sharing of prizes due to the unique ticket numbers. With the Mega Jackpot prize now standing at $12.52 million for draw 1656 and the Super Jackpot at $8.95 million for draw 10831, the excitement continues to build.

In 2023, Lucky Lotteries saw 117 1st Prize and Jackpot winners across Australia, sharing more than $20.6 million in winnings. Moreover, The Lott celebrated over 122.7 million wins last year, distributing more than $3.76 billion in prize money across its various games.
