Novita to star at Centrals’ home match on ANZAC Day

NovitaNovita Children’s Services is set to ‘star’ at the Central District v Sturt match at Hamra Homes Oval on ANZAC Day.

Central District players will wear the yellow Novita star on their white shorts in recognition of the club’s support for Novita, and yellow bootlaces.

Since 2009 Central District has been a Team Ambassador for Novita, the not-for-profit service provider that has cared for South Australian children with physical disabilities and acquired brain injuries for 70 years. James and Chris Gowans are the ‘faces’ of the team’s support.

Novita Chief Executive Glenn Rappensberg said Novita was thrilled to have such visible support from its Team Ambassador, Central District.

“For Novita’s star to be featured on the players’ kit shows Centrals’ commitment to raising awareness for Novita’s kids and the services we provide for them, which we sincerely appreciate,” he said.

“Novita families and supporters will be there on the day to cheer on Centrals.”

Central District Football Club CEO Kris Grant said the club was proud to have an association with an organisation as worthwhile as Novita.

”If the Bulldogs’ shorts and bootlaces can help Novita’s kids in some way, then we’re happy to help,” he said.

Attendees will be invited to support Novita at the match too, in a number of ways.

Chris Gowans’ premiership guernsey, framed as a collector’s item, will be raffled, a silent auction will be held for the match ball, volunteers will be selling Novita wristbands at the ground, and donations can be placed in collection tins inside Grand Central.

Central District v Sturt commences at 3.10pm on Sunday 25 April at Hamra Homes Oval, Goodman Road, Elizabeth. The match will be broadcast live on ABC TV from 3pm.
