Central Market Plaza’s newest spot, Aces Pizza & Liquor, has arrived in all its Italian-American glory.

Almost painted with a Scorsese or Tarantino brush, Aces is an Italian American gangster film reincarnated. It is cosy, authentic, and a major destination for two reasons:
1. The food comes out in ten minutes.
2. They have a takeaway liquor store.

With Hustle & Vine’s Andrew Fantasia, and the superstar chefs from Africola, the people involved with Aces are pretty ace.

Showcasing traditional Italian food with a modern twist, the menu looks both authentic and generous.

The breakfast menu features heavy hitters including a ‘big boy’ breakfast which includes poached eggs, pancetta, Italian sausage, tomato, potatoes In Nduja, and Pizza Bread (yum). Alternatively you can get its little brother the ‘good boy’ breakfast, which is all the above, but in a sensible size.

Also on the breakfast menu is a brekkie carbonara, because why not, and a brekkie pizza, because why not.

The dining menu is in line with Aces’ style as an Italian-American eatery, featuring pizzas, pastas, and a range of sides. The New School pizzas are notable, and are named after some on-screen faves, with ‘Cool Hand Zuke’, ‘Napoli Dynamite’, and ‘Back to the Funghi’ on offer.

The classics are also present in the pasta menu. The spaghetti with Sunday sauce will likely be a veritable classic, and the tagliatelle ‘Green Goddess’ is a vegetarian heaven, with broccoli, kale, chilli, parmesan and pesto.

There’s hero sandwiches, a cheese and salumi range, salads, and special plates ahoy. It’s an Italian menu through and through.

The last part of Aces name, liquor, also takes the forefront. The wine list features greats from McLaren Vale and the Adelaide Hills, and beer-lovers will find faves such as Coopers, Mismatch, Pirate Life, Young Henrys, as well as a heap of interstate and international beers.

Cocktails and a gin and a whisky selection make this joint a late night haven and the hours suit that.

As of now, breakfast is available Thursday, Friday and Saturdays. Bookings for dinner on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. Get keen for pizza and vino Thursdays because they’re being slung for $25.

Opening Hours:
Monday – Wednesday 7.30am ’til 7pm
Thursday – Saturday 7.30am ’til late.
