What’s going on here!

Adelaide’s beloved Chianti on Hutt Street is back in action with a fresh look. The well-known Italian spot has been spruced up and is set to reopen under the management of siblings Jessica Favaro-Richards and Nicholas Favaro.

The Favaro family isn’t new to the hospitality game, having been in it for almost 40 years. They’re not just stopping at Chianti; they’re also behind other popular spots like Bar Torino and the recent Carrick Hill project.

Come Tuesday, 17th October, Chianti Ristorante & Bar will be ready to serve. Executive Chef Joshua Cooke, who’s worked with big names like Rick Stein and Jock Zonfrillo, is shaking things up in the kitchen. He’s keen on keeping the menu fresh, seasonal, and local but with that classic Italian touch Chianti is known for.

“Chianti has always worked with great ingredients and has always been a place where customers can experience fantastic tasting food, partnered with exceptional service.

“The new menu has a stronger focus on acknowledging traditional Italian flavours but not being bound by them.

“Our food will be guided by what is best throughout the year, working closely with fisherman and farmers to create a seasonal menu that showcases the best of Australian ingredients, with Italian roots, that aligns with Chianti’s core values,” said Mr Cooke.

Diners can expect some new dishes, but the favourites aren’t going anywhere. And yes, the homemade pasta is still on the menu. The idea is simple: good food that’s perfect for sharing.

Jessica Favaro-Richards is excited about this new chapter.

“My whole life, my family and our wonderful team have nurtured this business to be something we are very proud to be a part of.”

“My brother and I were born into hospitality and even though we pursued our own interests,
we always came right back here.”

This venue has been more than just a restaurant; it’s been a home to us and a cherished part of the Hutt Street neighbourhood. The warmth, character and elegance of this place have made it a beloved fixture that really brings our passion for food and dedication to customers.”
