Rodeo Food and Beverage has officially opened its doors on The Parade in Norwood, offering a delightful and eccentric deli-style experience.
The brainchild of Izabel Czechowicz and Fraser Monfries, who previously worked together at Hoyts in Norwood, Rodeo is the result of their combined strengths and passion for the hospitality industry.
The journey to bring Rodeo to life has been a labor of love spanning over 18 months.
“Now that it’s finally come to fruition, it’s surreal to see it all come together. I’m excited to share this space with everyone and serve up great food and coffee,” Izabel tells Glam Adelaide.
The contemporary deli-style eatery was born out of a desire to fill a gap in the Norwood market, with little selection of cool deli-style sando joints on the East Side of Adelaide.
“We wanted to bring something different to The Parade in terms of lunch options and eateries. Being familiar with the community, we feel like we know what they want and need,” Izabel says.
The name Rodeo and its zebra mascot serve as inspirations for the fresh food options available. Izabel explains that the zebra represents thinking outside the box and having fun with the menu items. “It’s also about feeling like cowboys and not working for the ‘man’,” she jokingly adds.
The menu at Rodeo offers a delightful blend of classic items and fresh, funky ideas.
“We’ll have a few brain babies born out of flavour combinations that we think are tasty. We want to adapt the menu over time, allowing for evolution and avoiding pigeonholing ourselves,” Izabel says.
Currently, their menu is hitting the mark with a range of fresh and toasted sandos. Options include jalapeno and buttermilk fried chicken with pickles and hot mayo, roasted porchetta with house-pickled onions, pan-fried halloumi with house-smashed avo, and a classic tuna melt with spring onion and corn.
Reflecting their backgrounds and expertise, the menu also features baked goods from Izabel’s pastry-making history and specialty coffee from Fraser’s Pogo roastery. Izabel comments, “There will definitely be an injection of our backgrounds in the offerings. It will be a balance between my passion for food and the skills I’ve acquired over the years.”
Guests at Rodeo can enjoy their delicious eats on the go from the service window or opt for the small dine-in area, which mirrors the relaxed and welcoming nature of the owners.
The quirky and eccentric elements of the eatery’s fit-out add to the overall experience. Imagine fun pickle lights dangling from the ceiling, a gallery wall showcasing local artists’ work, and vibrant colours of green, pink and orange.
The traditional deli-style structure is infused with novelties that represent the weird and wonderful side of everyone.
Izabel sums it up perfectly: “It will be the perfect symbiosis of weird and wonderful, yet modern and contemporary.”
With its enticing menu, relaxed ambiance, and eclectic design, Rodeo Food and Beverage promises to be a great stop on The Parade in Norwood.
