Replacing the old Chuck Wagon building in North Adelaide is Hello Harry (HH), serving up delectable American-style burgers. Established 10 years ago by two-hat Chef Tony Kelly, the HH menu was inspired by his travels to the United States, where he got a taste of the fast food scene. Kelly’s aim was to pull burgers and classic sides away from the realm of “junk food” and instead, satisfy people’s cravings with quality ingredients.

“He came up with the concept of making American food using fine-dining techniques and approach,” says restaurant manager, Ravi Singh. The result is a menu that offers classic foods with an emphasis on freshness and quality.

One of the highlights at Hello Harry’s is ‘The Fat Bastard’ – a challenge where customers have eight minutes to conquer their massive ‘Double Fat Bastard’ burger with four smashed beef patties and loaded fries with cheese, green onions, bacon, with your choice of beef brisket or pulled pork, ultimately winning a prize!

But it’s not just about size, Hello Harry uses buns that are exclusively made for their burgers by a private baker.

“We do everything from scratch. We smoke our brisket and pork in-store, we use the Rolls Royce of beef”, says Ravi. They ensure freshness by preparing all ingredients and vegetables daily, making sure that customers have a great experience each time they visit.

Even for dessert, the burgers don’t stop. The team have created ‘Harry’s Famous Dessert Bombs!’, which is a flash fried bun, rolled in cinnamon, filled with ice cream, and your choice of strawberry, Nutella or salted caramel on top – definitely filling up the second stomach dedicated for dessert.

North Adelaide’s food scene now has a new contender. Hello Harry is ready to bring Adelaide foodies burgers that have been created using fine-dining techniques that don’t destroy the essence of American classics.
