The Barossa’s culinary scene has a fresh new contender: Knead.
Located on Murray Street, Tanunda, this elegant new eatery opened its doors on October 17th. Owner and celebrated local chef Stuart Oldfield invites diners to delight in his take on modern European cuisine.
Knead has quickly gained a reputation for its thoughtful menu and airy interior, making it a welcome addition to the Barossa Valley’s renowned food and wine landscape. Stepping inside Knead, you’ll find an ambiance that is both sophisticated and welcoming. The modern, casual interior is tastefully designed to create an inviting atmosphere, perfect for a relaxed dinner out.
Oldfield opened providore-style cafe, Hustle Barossa, just this April, with venue, Bar:Musque and company, Hand-Made Catering already under his belt.
Oldfield’s award-winning Bar:Musque boasts a remarkable wall of 430 gins from the UK, Spain, France, Iceland, Israel and more. It’s a fascinating destination for gin lovers and another one of Oldfield’s must-visits for the Barossa.
The menu at new restaurant, Knead Barossa is designed to cater to a wide range of tastes, with dishes that balance elegance, comfort, and flavour. From beautifully crafted starters to satisfying mains, each dish is prepared with high-quality ingredients highlighting the best of European inspired food.
Offering a carefully crafted dinner menu from Thursday to Saturday, the restaurant is also open for lunch Friday to Sunday, and brekkie on Sunday morning.
On the menu is a mix of freshly baked appetisers, ceviches, hand-made pastas, and cuts straight from the charcoal grill.
Start with kingfish ceviche topped with lime, fresh chilli, fennel and cucumber. Or kick things off with a shaved rare beef fillet on horseradish creme and sprinkled with rocket and capers. Dine on a king prawn spaghetti with mussels, scallops, garlic, fresh tomatoes and herbs. Grab yourself a premium fillet mignon with smoked pancetta and roasted mushroom in red wine sauce straight from the charcoal grill. There are plenty of vego options too, cauliflower steak topped with spring herbs and marinated in Turkish spices and lemon yoghurt being just one of them.
Thoughtfully selected wines and premium spirits round out the dining experience, with pairings that enhance the rich European flavours and add to the satisfaction of each meal.
You can also enjoy a gourmet breakfast on Sunday morning, with a side of seared halloumi or smoked salmon. Or if you’re feeling sweet, savour a house made stack of buttermilk pancakes.
