The bakery with one of the widest ranges of gluten free baked items, Gluten Free 4 U Adelaide, is now open for dinner, as a Mexican eatery!
Introducing Taco Cielo, presented by Gluten Free 4 U. Adelaide’s newest Mexican restaurant is offering 100% gluten free Mexican cuisine from 5:30 to 9:30pm, Tuesday to Sunday. The prominent gluten free bakery has expanded its hours, as well as its seating capacity.
The Hampstead Gardens establishment transforms from one of Adelaide’s largest gluten free baked goods shops, to a fresh gluten free Mexican restaurant at night.
Owner, Pourash Wadia challenges anyone who doubts gluten free cooking to come and try Taco Cielo. He is certain that absolutely everyone will be delighted with the restaurant’s offerings. From tacos to tostadas, empanadas to tamals, quesadillas, guacamole and nachos. It’s all there, on Taco Cielo’s indulgent menu.
When asked why Mexican, Wadia said, “Mexican cooking lends itself to being gluten free already. We don’t have to tweak all that much to ensure it’s gluten free. Most dishes are already gluten free, so we can provide an authentic Mexican dining experience to both gluten free and non-gluten free diners.”
In the front, diners will still find the bakery they’ve come to love, then in the back there is a fresh 25-seat restaurant for Taco Cielo diners.
You’ll find executive chef, Margarita Gallardo, whipping up authentic Mexican cuisine in the Taco Cielo kitchen. Wadia says she has extensive hospitality experience, and produces exquisite Mexican food.
There is something for everyone with an extensive list of entrees and mains. In fact, the restaurant still offers classics from the bakery including pies, pasties and sausage rolls, as well as Aussie classics like schnitzel, parmigiana and hot chips.
For dessert, you’ll find a decadent range of desserts. Wadia says Taco Cielo offers “all different types of slices, lemon tarts, custard tarts, cannolis and chocolate eclairs,” right up until close. “We also have a variety of cakes, cupcakes and chocolate mousse,” he said.
The restaurant will also serve up a great range of Jarritos Mexican soda flavours, as well as the classic Bundaberg and CocaCola ranges, and coffees, milkshakes and thickshakes.
Wadia says he wants the establishment to be known for its great Mexican food, and the fact that it’s gluten free is just an added bonus that means everyone can enjoy it! “Running a gluten free bakery, there are lots of people with gluten free diets coming to us, but people without these diets are not as interested,” he said.
“But when anyone comes to try our products they absolutely love them,” Wadia says.
During the day, from 8:30am to 3:30 pm, Gluten Free 4 U offers 150 gluten free baked items, reportedly one of the largest offerings in the state. The bakery caters to a huge range of dietary requirements while delivering flavourful, indulgent dishes fit for any palate.
So whether you’re coming for the baked goods, or to savour the authentic Mexican flavours, get yourself down to Taco Cielo presented by Gluten Free 4 U Adelaide.
