Valkyrie Cocktail Lounge has recently opened its doors on Gouger Street with Lead Mixologist Ben (of Lotus Lounge and Hidden Pour) sharing his playlist of treats to satiate your craving for an imbued brew or melodic mélange.
All the signature beverages are inspired by legends of music-headliners include The Nosebleed Section, a strong and punchy mash-up with heaving hits of vodka, to Stronger Than Me – a heady and powerful mix of gin, melon, and raspberry notes that are as smooth and deep as Amy Winehouses’ dulcet tone.
Wednesday evenings have been particularly bangin’ (which are as rare as an album of The Quarrymen in acetate in Adelaide) and although only in residence a short while, Valkyrie has a strong and loyal group of die-hard fans.
Rounding out the band Ben and the team have pulled together the cream-of-the-crop of support acts with Pash Jam- an open-mic event that provides a full back line of instruments, drums and amps for musicians who enjoy performing, to back-up singer bartenders and staff coming from all walks of life – more than happy to share their intrinsic knowledge and life lessons with any member of the audience.
