Now We’ve Seen It All… Introducing The Festival of Marmalade

We know you’ve often checked your calendar, thinking, WHY isn’t there an event celebrating marmalade? Well fret no more, as one is heading to SA.

We know you’ve often checked your calendar, thinking, WHY isn’t there an event celebrating marmalade? Why hasn’t Paddington Bear’s favourite vice made the big time? Well, fret no more. The only event of its kind is coming to Renmark on September 3rd, for the second time (due to popular demand of course!)

The Australian Festival of Marmalade is this September’s hot ticket item, and we’ve got all the details.
The National Trust of South Australia, in partnership with the Dalemain World’s Original Marmalade Awards and Festival in the UK is running the second annual Australian Marmalade Awards.
Building on the Riverland’s seasonal celebration of food to build on the success of the previous year’s event, the search for the best marmalade makers across Australia and New Zealand is currently underway, with the winners to be announced in the afternoon of event.

The festival will be held on Father’s Day at the Olivewood homestead in Renmark and there will be a range of events, including those with a citrus flavour, marmalade cooking demonstrations, kids activities, a static drone display and a live stream drone with “an eye in the sky”. Orange you glad you’ll be kept abreast of all the marmalade action from the sky?! (see what we did there). So good.
Entertainment will be provided throughout the day with live music by Red Diamond Rock to keep you pumped, as you explore the historic homestead.  There will be marmalade and citrus information available with guest speakers sharing their knowledge and stalls with citrus products to enjoy.
The 2017 Australian Marmalade awards competition entries are open until 21 August.
Locals and visitors alike are invited to come and help celebrate the Marmalade Festival.

Now all we want to know is if someone will be launching a marmalade gin at the festival…. anyone?
