Ah the office Christmas party! The chance to ditch the pencil skirt for your party dress, finally chat up the hottie from accounting and apparently have a very, very big night.
A survey by takeaway delivery site Eatnow.com.au has revealed that whopping 42% of workers will turn up late to the office the day after their work Christmas party, and nearly half will turn to takeaway to get them through work the next day.
This Friday December 12 is expected to be the day when most offices across the country will be nursing a collective hangover, but never fear, more than half of bosses welcomed the idea of takeaways for lunch the day after suggesting the whole team might be feeling the effects of the party season.
EatNow founder, Matthew Dyer, says the EatNow App makes it easier to order your takeaway and help beat the dreaded post party hangover.
“Ordering in takeaways is clearly a popular choice for working Aussies over the festive period and a great way to continue the party feeling into the next day as well a bonding with your team over lunch,” he said.
The survey also revealed pizza as the most popular takeaway choice for hungover Aussies with 40% of the vote and that takeaways are also helping to continue the Christmas party romances into the next day, with 16% of respondents admitting to sharing their food with a co-worker they shared a sneaky kiss with the night before!
So don’t hang your head in shame this Christmas party season, we’ve all been there, and if this survey is anything to go by – your boss will have some greasy goodness waiting to cure your thumping head when you roll into work the next day!
