With Valentine’s Day happening this Sunday, we’ve collated a roundup of Adelaide’s top picnic spots as inspiration for couples and friends who want to celebrate the LOVE in more safe but equally as romantic and special way.
Adelaide Botanic Gardens – perfect for young families with lots of shade and hidden gems
Horseshoe Bay, Pt Elliot – sit on the sand, the grass or the jetty and lap up the rays
Windy Point Lookout – perfect for a cozy night in the car, gazing at the lights of Adelaide
Second Valley Beach – get the sand between your toes with a perfect date on the shore
The River Torrens Gondola – enjoy the sights of the River Torrens floating downstream
Mt Osmond Lookout – sit on the side of the rolling hills and watch the sunset over the water
Pinky Flat – look on to the hustle and bustle of the CBD in this relaxing garden
Japanese Garden, South Tce – an oriental oasis with calming views and perfect spots to sit
Mt Lofty Botanic Gardens – get lost amongst the colourful trees and foliage
Let’s be honest though… pretty much anywhere with a view, a hamper with goodies, some South Aussie vino, and the ones you love, makes for the perfect picnic, right?
If you’re anything like us though, the organisation side of things can get a little too hectic, when work and life gets in the way.
Luckily for us, SA’s Edible Blooms have teamed up with DoorDash to provide a convenient and delicious, all-inclusive ‘experience in a box’ hamper just in time for the special day.
The all-inclusive luxe hamper includes all the ideal Val-day goodies – heart-shaped cheese, panforte, a dedicated cheese knife, a picnic rug and even gin and bubbles if desired.
Perfect for couples, friends, family or a good old Galentine’s
celebration, there’s something for everyone to indulge in in the lead up to February 14th.
Customers can now pre-book a Valentine’s Day Hamper for on-demand delivery via the DoorDash app and Edible Blooms website, powered by DoorDash through its white-label fulfilment service Drive, which offers direct delivery for any business.

Adelaide customers can pin their location in the app – whether it’s in a park, at the beach or at their place of work – and DoorDash will deliver to that precise location.
“With Valentine’s Day falling on a Sunday this year, we wanted to create memorable experiences from romantic picnics in the park to ultimate cosy couch dates,” Kelly added.
Customers who are after a low-key weekend on the couch can indulge in a range of ‘Flix and Chill’ Hampers which include goodies from bottles of champagne to fluffy slippers. Every hamper also comes with ‘bloom tix’ – a fun and creative range of vouchers that can be gifted to show love and appreciation by way of massage, compliments and even promises to clean the house.
Those looking to experience the outdoors can choose from a range of luxe picnic hampers. Designed to be all-inclusive, there is no need to pack a cheese knife or even a picnic rug, Edible Blooms has thought of it all. The
‘Valentine Picnic Luxury’ Hamper even contains a heart-shaped cheese and heart-shaped panforte that is exclusive to Edible Blooms.
The hard work has also been taken out of choosing a picnic location, with the help of Edible Bloom’s printed guide of best picnic spots in each city, which can be found within each hamper.
“We see the whole week leading up Valentine’s Day as an entire week of romance, date invitations and generous gestures of love,” said Kelly Jamieson.
The Edible Bloom Valentine’s Day experience hamper range is available until sold out, so don’t wait until February 14th to celebrate – pre-order now via DoorDash or Edible Blooms to avoid disappointment.
