On Your Bike, Adelaide!

bikesNational Ride to Work Day on Wednesday, 13 October 2010 is a great excuse to save money, fit some exercise into your day and help save the environment. The event, which attracted almost 100,000 participants across the country in 2009, will include a free breakfast 7 – 9am in Victoria Square, proudly supported by the Adelaide City Council.

Register by heading to www.ride2work.com.au or check it out on Twitter, Facebook or Youtube. If you are keen to record your stats, the RiderLog iPhone app uses details of your rides to help governments plan better public biking facilities.

Unable to participate in Ride to Work Day? Why not try Adelaide City Bikes, the free bike hire scheme in the CBD? Hire a bike between 9am and 4.30pm from nine locations across the city, including the Adelaide City Council, Bicycle SA, Rundle Street Market, and the Adelaide Zoo. Most locations are open seven days and hire includes a helmet and bike lock. Users simply provide a driver’s licence or passport as proof of identity. For more information, telephone Bicycle SA on 8168 9999 or head to http://www.bikesa.asn.au.
