Netball Australia and Australia Post want to recognise and reward individuals, Clubs and Associations who are making the sport of netball more inclusive through the Australia Post One Netball Community Awards.

Launched nationally today, the Australia Post One Netball Community Awards will highlight the champions of change across the Australian netball community who go above and beyond to welcome everyone to the sport they love.

Netball Australia Chief Executive Officer Kate Palmer said netball is fortunate to have a large community of passionate coaches, umpires, players and volunteers around the country who are helping to strengthen their communities through inclusive practices.

“The Australia Post One Netball Community Awards are a wonderful way to support the work of individuals, Clubs and Associations who are making netball communities more inclusive,” Palmer said.

Kimberlee Green, Australian Diamonds star and Australia Post One Netball Ambassador said the Awards are about celebrating local champions who share their love of netball with everyone and welcoming new faces into their clubhouses.

“Netball Clubs and Associations are the lifeblood of local communities, filled with passionate people promoting our sport and making it inclusive for everyone to take part, irrespective of their skill level, ability or background,” Green said.

“The One Netball Community Awards will recognise these people from the sidelines to the centre circle and share their stories to inspire others to support more inclusive netball environments.”

Australia Post Chief Marketing Officer Greg Sutherland said: “The One Netball Community Awards will also increase awareness of diverse communities by celebrating those people who are driving participation in the Australian netball community.”

To make your nomination, visit www.onenetball.org.au and tell us in 200 words or less how someone you know, your Club or Association are creating and supporting a more inclusive netball environment in your local community.
