The sunshine has returned, and with it the Roman God of the grape harvest, wine, and ritual madness – Bacchus. Well… of course we’re talking about the God of Henley Beach wine bars, Bacchus Wine Bar.
Bacchus have gone from being Henley Beach’s most popular bars where you could never get a seat to almost doubling it’s capacity by recently adding a retractable roof and protective wind barriers. Totally converting this hot spot to an all-weather area. Rain, hail or bloody hot sunshine-y days like today. You can finally kick back out front on the esplanade under the shade and still feel the summers breeze. It’s made the area so much more amazing and super useable!
They’ve also started to cater to le four-legged variety of beach-goers. You can leave your pupper at the “Pooch Park” out front with some water and toys, or bring them with you and select them some treats off the Pooch Menu. It’s not a day at the beach without a few doggos, so after a run it’s worth some indulgence for you and him (or her) at Bacchus.
You can’t go past Bacchus for beachside wine-ing and dining now can you? There’s free car parking around Henley Square and a new deck looking out over the setting sun.
Oh, what’s that you ask? A stunning menu and delicious cocktails to go with that view? Bacchus are all over it. Of course there’s the usual fare – pizzas, pasta, salads and a brunch menus, but it’s the platters that truly make Bacchus stand out in our books.
Who could go past the Sunset Platter, with fish, squid, dips, fresh fruit, cheeses, haloumi, chicken, and MORE? Or, of course the Summer Platter, packed with seasonal fruit, vegetables, dips, dried fruit, cheese, and nuts. It’s a close second if you’re looking for something a little lighter to go with your mojito.
Bacchus will serve you at any time of the day, but really, if you want to make the most of it, swing in for Bachata by the Beach, the Bacchus Latin Sunday Sesh! Get around some groovy beats, free bachata lessons, and some summery cocktails for the best Sunday sesh going around.
With temperatures set to soar, you know where to find us (mojito in hand)! Lucky for
Bacchus’ kitchen is open all day on weekends, and from 12pm-3pm and 5pm-9pm Monday-Friday.
Of course, if you’re planning on heading down take a look at some more of their fare on Facebook, Instagram or website.
