Adelaide’s Restaurant Botanic, recently ranked number 15th in the world, will host a classic Aussie sausage sizzle, but it promises to be nothing like the one at Grandma and Grandpa’s.
On Sunday January 21st, Restaurant Botanic’s chef Justin James will be teaming up the Good Gilbert team to serve Adelaide easily one of the most premier sausage sizzle’s known to man, not the classic snag from Bunnings. Which you could argue is an Australian delicacy in itself.
From Kangaroo sausages with green ant mustard and fermented onion, the boys also promise world class goon as well as the classic UDL, reimagined into boujee cocktails. There are also rumours a fried chicken sausage paired with hit sauce and ranch will be making an appearance.
The collaboration comes after Justin and Wilson Shawyer, co-owner of Good Gilbert, brainstormed ways to make their brands accessible to the suburbs.
Good Gilbert is known in their own right in the Adelaide bar scene, taking home the nations best wine bar at the Annual Restaurant Awards in 2023. With a wine list worth drooling over, sausage sizzle visitors can expect a great variety of drops on offer, complimenting the flavours Justin strikes up on the hotplate.
As for Restaurant Botanic, no introductions need to be made after a stellar year being crowned one the best restaurants in the country as well as a 5 out of 5 in The Australian, Gourmet Traveller Restaurant of the Year 2023. Within three months of being opened Restaurant Botanic won Gourmet Traveller’s Best Restaurant, and recently Restaurant of the Year of all of Australia.
If you are looking to branch out of your ordinary taste buds this weekend, why not head down the Good Gilbert and cop yourself one of the most elite sausage sizzles ever.
