One of SA’s Best Restaurants Now Offers A Full Vegan Degustation

The latest, fabulous addition for vegan diners, is by McLaren Vale favourite, d’Arenberg, who already offer vegan friendly wines.

South Australia has a thriving food and wine scene, and it’s not only for the omnivores amongst us. The vegan options have been on the rise, as restaurants, cafes and wineries, all strive to offer an even better (and healthier) menu for dietary conscious consumers.

The latest, fabulous addition for vegan diners, is by McLaren Vale favourite, d’Arenberg, who already offer vegan friendly wines. d’Arenberg’s flagship restaurant, d’Arry’s Verandah Restaurant, now offer a full vegan degustation menu.

Since taking over the reins at d’Arry’s over 13 years ago, husband and wife team Pete and Jo Reschke have applied care and dedication to the creation of their vegetarian dishes, believing that dietary restrictions or choices shouldn’t affect the opportunity to enjoy a fine dining experience.

“Alternatives to omnivorous dining shouldn’t be restricted to boring, dull dishes,” said Restaurant Manager, Jo Reschke. “Vegetarian and vegan dishes should be as balanced, exciting and complete as other options on the menu. They should be dishes that anyone would devour with vigour and relish.”

The idea to create the new menu came to Head Chef, Peter Reschke, as he watched his son’s lack of vegan friendly food options, highlighted on a culinary tour around Melbourne. “Many restaurants we visited, even with advance notice, struggled to supply a vegan option,” he said. “I realised that ‘converting a dish’ isn’t an option, you can’t just take out ingredients and not put any back.”

The new vegan degustation menu can be viewed online here. d’Arry’s Verandah is open for lunch seven days a week, you can book online, or phone 08 8329 4848.
