One Week ‘Till Dry July

didier-cohen-245Thousands of Australians are gearing up for last drinks as July approaches. With the countdown on, there is only one week to go until it’s time to go dry for 31 days. Get ready to put down those glasses.

For those who have not yet registered, there is still plenty of time to get in before the start of July. Sign up will remain open throughout July. It’s never too late to get onboard with Dry July to raise funds for adults living with cancer who receive treatment through one of the 31 beneficiaries that the charity is supporting in 2013.

A star-studded cast of some of Australia’s favourite personalities, presenters and actors have already joined the cause to raise funds for adult cancer patients. You can start donating, whether you’re doing Dry July or not to your favourites like Roy Billing, Danielle Cormack, Michala Banas, Chris Bath, Didier Cohen, Maz Compton, Tiffany Cherry, Michael Paynter, Barry Southgate, Rodger Corser, Nathaniel Dean, Alyssa McClelland, Brendan Cowell and Dry July Patron Adam Spencer, Radio Presenter, 702 ABC Sydney, here: http://au.dryjuly.com/supporters/.

Dry July started out as a social experiment between 10 mates to stay sober throughout the month of July. It has since grown into Australia’s most popular and successful ‘month-off alcohol’ charity. Last year over 15,000 participants raised over $3.7 million to improve the lives of adults living with cancer and their families. This year the targets are even higher with 17,000 Australians expected to take part in the biggest Dry July yet and help raise an anticipated $4 million. It’s an incredible feat, but one that Australians can easily reach by turning their glasses upside down and asking their friends and families for donations.

Dry July will collect funds raised by participants until the end of August to create better treatment environments and facilities for adult cancer patients and their families. Register your support now at www.dryjuly.com and sign up to be a part of a team with friends, family or colleagues or go the challenge alone. For those who are weary of making it through a month without booze, you can also purchase a Golden Ticket for a day / night off at a minimum cost of $25.
