Adelaide Cabaret Fringe Festival Announces 10th Anniversary Program & Opening Party

The 10th anniversary program features the best independent homegrown and national cabaret.

The Adelaide Cabaret Fringe announces over 40 events across 15 different venues for its 10th anniversary program to be celebrated from the 3rd – 25th June.

The 10th anniversary program features the best independent homegrown and national cabaret – representing the breadth of artistic expression in Australian Cabaret with a diverse lineup of new and familiar names.

The program is highlighted by the inclusion of Australia’s velvet voiced Mikelangelo, with his triumphant oneman tribute to Leonard Cohen. Acclaimed the world over, from the Sydney Opera House to London’s West End and everywhere in-between, Mikelangelo has made a name for himself as one of the best in the business and one not to miss. Mikelangelo will be joined by special guests including Cabaret Fringe Festival Creative Director Jennifer Kingwell and local songwriters Koral and Anthony Callisto (of Cosmo Thundercat).

Martin Pascoe offers Cabaret with an Indigenous Twist. A hilarious new spin on a show that has played both the Spirit Festival AND the NAIDOC Ball with performances by a Host of local Aboriginal talent. Join MC Pascoe Braun as Indigenous Cabaret finally takes centre stage.

Cabaret Fringe Festival Director Paul Boylon was excited to celebrate the festival’s 10th birthday in 2017.

“Directing the Adelaide Cabaret Fringe Festival for a decade has been a wonderful experience and I’m ecstatic to launch the 10 year anniversary program. Full of local and interstate talent the program is exciting, colorful and offers something for everyone.” Said Cabaret Fringe Festival Founder and Director Paul Boylon.

Other program highlights announced today include gender transcendent diva, cabaret artiste, jazz singer & community activist Mama Alto with pianist extraordinaire Miss Chief, the much loved act of the gorgeous, talented and wickedly funny Dolly Diamond, will be keeping audiences on the edge of their seats, while Nicole O Rielley takes to the stage like a pissed of Regina Specktor: dropping F Bombs, singing hate songs, in Publicly Private.

Adelaide Cabaret Fringe Festival Opening Party

Heightening the 10th anniversary celebrations, The Cabaret Fringe Festival will host a one-weekend-only party to open the festival at the Freemason’s Lodge from the 2nd – 3rd June. A chance to celebrate 10 years of diversity, festivities, and independent cabaret, the Opening Weekend Gala at the Freemason’s Lodge will include host, International Superstar and Sex Symbol Hans, and offering mischievous social satire, raucous circus-gypsy style songs will be Anya Anastasia, along with a full program of festivities and late-night antics.
