Crack open a bottle of tonic, and celebrate the release of Seppeltsfield Road Distillers’ two new vintage gins.

The two gins, a Shiraz Gin and a Semi-Gin, pay homage to the great traditions of globally recognised wine region, the Barossa Valley.

The 2020 Semi-Gin is newest to the market, and incorporates handpicked Western Barossa Semillon grapes, then macerated with the distillery’s Barossa Dry Gin.

The Semillon Gin has a bright golden hue, coconut and burnt toffee characters, and a balanced botanical structure.

Seppeltsfield Road Distillers recommend serving the 2020 Semi-Gin neat over ice with a fresh lime slice, or combined in a zesty sour cocktail.

“To me, Barossa Semillon is a varietal that provides richness, complexity and a balanced acidity,” says General Manager, Jon Durdin.

There are only 500 bottles of the Semi-Gin available, so customers are urged to get in quickly.

The 2020 Shiraz Gin has already received a Gold Medal from The Spirits Business at the Global Gin Masters.

Featuring Western Barossa Shiraz Grapes macerated with Seppeltsfield’s award-winning house gin, the blend delivers soft tannins and a rich shiraz fruit flavour, in a melody of subtle juniper, orange, and cinnamon notes.

Seppeltsfield Road Distillers recommend serving the Shiraz Gin neat over ice, in a Negroni or served with a dry tonic and a slice of fresh orange.

“We are really excited about the 2020 vintage Shiraz Gin,” explains Seppeltsfield Road Distillers owner and Distiller, Nicole Durdin.

“True Barossa Shiraz characters come to the fore with soft, silky tannins, and luscious dark berries, along with fresh citrus from the House Gin which delivers a harmony and balance that sings on the palate.”

The grapes used are sourced from some of the most highly regarded growers in the region, with the gins a homage to the amazing viticulture the Barossa offers.

“Barossa has a long and rich history of both winemaking and distilling” says Nicole.

These gins are the product of years of trialling to find the perfect balance.

“Having learnt and refined our skills and processes over the past three years, we think this is our best release yet,” she explains.

The two gins join the stellar line up Seppeltsfield Road Distillers already has on offer, including the House Gin, Barossa Dry Gin, and Savoury Allsorts Gin.
