Saturday was one giant rollercoaster of emotion… for a lot of people. Fortunately, we had a gorgeous four-course luncheon at 2KW ‘Frocks Over Footy’ complete with bespoke 78 Degrees gin cocktails… YUM. The sun was shining. The company was great. And better yet, after lunch we hit the deck for a live screening of the AFL Grand Final, all fat and happy.
This year chef Dan Lawrence designed his menu and was sent off to the boys at Adelaide Hills Distillery who have made specially designed gins to compliment the food. 2KW’s mixologist team have then developed these gins into stunning cocktail creations for pairings on the day.
The menu went a little something like this…
Seared South Australian king prawn with lemon grass, lime, coconut foam
Red Snapper ceviche, ras el hanout, tomato, pomegranate, green chilli
Haloumi, white bean puree, verjuice, currants, truffle oil
Pan fried gnocchi, parmesan mousse, prosciutto, spring vegetables
