The silly season is here, as Adelaide gears up for the 2023 Adelaide Fringe.

There’s always a lot to choose from in this jam-packed festival, but perhaps one of the most exciting things are the shows that come out of left field; the weird and wonderful arts acts we all know and love.

AMY HETHERINGTON: CRYING OVER SPILT MILK (ENCORE)

Join the infectiously likable new mum for stories about sleep deprivation, weird advice from strangers, sore nipples, and crying over spilled milk. A perfect show for new parents, would-be parents, or never-would-I-ever parents.

FAULTY TOWERS THE DINING EXPERIENCE

Come and see why this smash hit has been labelled “Immersive theatre at its startling best” the world over. Highly improvised, highly interactive and fully immersive, where audiences join the action, becoming guests who play along with Basil, Sybil and Manuel.

CONFETTI AND CHAOS

It was meant to be a surprise party but it’s turned into pandemonium – with secrets spilling out as family members bust in, bust up and bust a move. Audiences become guests caught in the crossfire in this totally immersive and highly improvised comedy. It might just be the worst wedding reception you’ll ever go to – and you’re all invited!

The Party – the new show for 2023 from Strut n Fret, follows hot on the tails of their 2022 sell-out Fringe show, Blanc de Blanc Encore.

The Party is the much anticipated and outrageous new headline production by creative geniuses Strut & Fret, creators of Blanc de Blanc and LIMBO. Head First Acrobats: GODZ

The GODZ are back to challenge perceptions and set pulses racing at the brand-new Adelaide Fringe destination, Fool’s Paradise in Victoria Square!

After an award-winning premiere season, GODZ returns to the Adelaide Fringe Festival providing a sneak peek into the lives of the ancient Gods of Olympus as they paint the scene of Ancient Greece and bring audiences to the biggest party to hit Mount Olympus since 500 BCE.

Audiences can expect to experience circus and physical prowess of Godlike proportions in this unique feat of storytelling full of gravity defying stunts, tests of heroic strength, and slapstick comedy Head First Acrobats have become famous for.

The Sensemaker

Mixing theatre and dance, this dystopian battle between a woman and an answering machine questions the effects of new technologies on our lives, as well as the laborious administrative procedures of our bureaucratic systems.

‘The Sensemaker’ is a bureaucratic dystopia with a cynical tone. Created at first as a 30-minutes-short piece for the Théâtre de l’Abri in Geneva in 2017, it has then been recreated as a 60-min-piece for the Voilà! Europe Festival in London in 2018.
