Our Top Five Dumpling Joints In Adelaide

Our guide to some of the best dumpling spots in Adelaide.

Dumplings are one of our favourite delicious and warming Winter meals, and with COVID-19 restrictions easing, we have created a list of our favourite places to go.

Star Dumplings

Hidden away in the Adelaide Central Markets is Star Dumplings, one of our absolute favourite spots for lunch, dinner, or a little dumpling snack.

You can choose from both steamed and fried dumplings at very reasonable prices, in addition to special fried rice or noodle soups.

We’ll let you in on a little secret – they’re some of the best dumplings we’ve tried.

You can find Star Dumplings in the Market Plaza Food Court on Moonta St.

Mum Cha

What do you get when you mix a wine bar and a dumpling joint? Mum Cha.

You can order the dumplings off a menu, or order straight from the carts that are wheeled around the dining room in traditional yum cha style.

Mum Cha promises both exceptional dumplings and high-quality wines, so you can enjoy after-work dinner and drinks in one place.

You can find Mum Cha at 279 Rundle St.

Dumpling King

If you like dumplings, chances are you’re already well versed in the popular Dumpling King.

But on the rare chance, you haven’t been there, we urge you to drop everything and go.

Dumpling King has two locations, King William and Grote Street, and promises dumpling soups, fried and steamed dumplings, and more.

Find Dumpling King at 1/108 King William St & 85 Grote Street.

Joe Dumpling

Joe Dumpling is currently based at Plant 4 Bowden, and is open for there for lunch Tuesdays to Sundays from 11am to 2:30pm, and for dinner on Wednesdays and Fridays.

Joe Dumpling offers incredible noodle salads and boast both meat and vegan dumpling options to meet your needs.

Apart from the food, one of the best things about Joe Dumpling is the location in the gorgeous, communal Plant 4 Bowden.

Find Joe Dumpling at Plant 4 Bowden, 5 Third Street, Bowden.

Part Time Lover

While Part Time Lover isn’t exactly a dumpling restaurant, the new menu features a delicious gluten-free dumpling dish we couldn’t not include.

Typically, those with a gluten intolerance often have to miss out on delicious dumplings but Part Time Lover has combated that issue.

On the menu is a prawn and spring onion dumpling wrapped in crispy rice noodles, sesame mayo, and pickled ginger that is absolutely scrumptious.

Don’t just take our word for it, and visit Part Time Lover at Pilgrim Lane.
