Formerly the revered Hill of Grace restaurant, Oval Hotel’s new premiere dining destination, Five Regions Restaurant is promising big things as it opens to the public.
Five Region’s will operate in an intriguing model where every two months, one of South Australia’s leading wineries will be invited to present the best of their region through a seasonal, regionally-inspired menu.
The rolling lineup of menus will be crafted by Oval Hotel’s Executive chef, Paul Lewis, in collaboration with the winemaker and team from the winery in residence.
Inspirations the regions terrain, landscapes, and seasonal features will be implemented throughout the dishes.
The concept allows the collaborating brands to tell the region’s story in a very unique manner, and at its heart, it’s a collaboration that celebrates the very best in South Australian food and wine.
The first five regions and wineries have also been unveiled and they include a series of historically, and culturally notable brands.
Starting with McLaren Vale winery, Maxwell Wines, followed by Jim Barry Wines presenting Clare, The Lane Vineyard from the Adelaide Hills, Wynns Coonawarra Estate, and Yalumba with a Barossa inspired menu.
At the end of this series, Five Regions will return to McLaren Vale with a new partner winery.
The menu will be a five course degustation, with each course designed to complement a particular drop from the winery’s collection.
This will not be constrictive as guests can choose their own adventures.
The view will also complement the fine cuisine, with the intimate 40 seat dining room overlooking the hallowed turf of Adelaide Oval.
Five Regions Restaurant joins new dining venue, Bespoke Wine Bar & Kitchen, where reservations can be made now. Both venues are open to the public and Oval Hotel guests.
Five Regions Restaurant will open on Tuesday 22 September, from Tuesday to Saturday, from 6pm onwards.
You can find Five Regions Restaurant on King William Rd, North Adelaide.
